Belarusian theater has a very long history. In the Middle Ages, Belarusian clowns entertained the audience on the streets. Currently in the country there are 28 state theaters, but in the Minsk there are 12.
Special love and respect of national and foreign audience won the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theatre of Belarus in Minsk. The increase in Belarusian ballet  is associated with the artistic director of the theater Valentin Elizaryev.
